From the preparation of the Wool Challis by  withdrawing threads to the embroidery of pastel flower motifs with wool and silk threads it has been a feast of beauty for the heart and soul. This blanket project has taken many months of off and on stitching as time on a farm allows. As I stitched I prayed for the little one, Daughter-in-law, and Son that would receive this gift. I loved this time to focus on them and their household.

Padded Satin Stitch, Stem Stitch, Granitos Stitch, next Fly Stitch for the bud sepal, Single wrap-two threads French Knots, and Detached Chain Stitch for the leaf.  See Needle'NThread for tutorials.

Granitos Petals, then Stem Stitch & Fly stitch for buds and stems, and Buttonhole Stitch for the leaves.
