Update:The classes were lots of fun! Trish's comments on students work is so encouraging. Love her style and attention to detail. she encourages you to look at a real leaf, petal, feather and study how it grows to determine stitch direction for a realistic effect.
Note: I did line this one with natural muslin which isn't necessary. I used Kona Quilter's Cotton for the the top and I was not pleased as it was too rough on the DMC cotton floss. On the next bird I used the pre-printed cotton provided in the kit, which was much gentler on the floss. When I have all my miniatures finished I will mount and frame them.
