Mon Cahier de Broderie Hoja 6 --A peak at the next page, 11

Well this lesson looked like an ornament to me so the fabric choices just had to be Christmas themed. Lots more to do and it's a very busy time of year!

We Are All Clay Pots -God will shape us , break us , and remake us

Missing my favorite camera.  My stitching homework for this section is done. I needed all the practice in satin stitch and yet I need more.

Need to add some French knot centers (Point do noeud).

A page for 'Crazy Stitches' is coming next, or you could say Los Puntos Locos or Des Points Crazy. Playing around with two languages because Mon Cahier de Broiderie is in French and Covi, who is hosting the SAL is Spanish

Mon Cahier de Broderie Hoja 4, pages 7 & 8

My camera quit on me so I am borrowing one. Maybe you can tell it was going out by looking at my last post. Maybe you can also see that these photos are also not up to par. The real thing is a delightful learning experience.

The following monogram samples are from Mary Corbett's Needle N Thread Patterns.

3,2,1 Finished! Gentle Touch Blanket design by Susan O'Connor

A Blessed finish to a very enjoyable embroidery project. From the preparation of the Wool Challis by  withdrawing threads to the embroidery of pastel flower motifs with wool and silk threads it has been a feast of beauty for the heart and soul. Mary Corbett has a book review for Blissful Beginnings.

Gentle Touch Blanket by Susan O'Connor- 4 More Flowers To Go

This blanket project has taken many months of off and on stitching as time on a farm allows. As I stitched I prayed for the little one, Daughter-in-law, and Son that would receive this gift. I loved this time to focus on them and their household.

Padded Satin Stitch, Stem Stitch, Granitos Stitch, next Fly Stitch for the bud sepal, Single wrap-two threads French Knots, and Detached Chain Stitch for the leaf.  See Needle'NThread for tutorials.

Granitos Petals, then Stem Stitch & Fly stitch for buds and stems, and Buttonhole Stitch for the leaves.

Outlining with Back Split Stitch to control the shape of the flower.

Mon Cahier De Broderie Hoja 4, Pagina 7 & 8

Incredibly distracting month! Not much to show on the embroidery notebook project, yet the minutes have flown and it is time to post the progress along with hundreds of other ladies doing the same project. Have I lost my mind? Some of the text is in Spanish, some in French and some in English because the book we are using is written in French, the blog we post our lessons on is in Spanish!

Point de Reprise  or darning as they say in America is in the center. Tutorials for the stitches are available at Needle N Thread  .

 Point de Petale

Point de Poste  , Point de Plume
 Petit Point
Point de Poste, Point de Pistil, Point de Pique

Point de Rhodes , applique avec  Point de Paris

Lots more to do!
