Gentle Touch Blanket by Susan O'Connor- 4 More Flowers To Go

This blanket project has taken many months of off and on stitching as time on a farm allows. As I stitched I prayed for the little one, Daughter-in-law, and Son that would receive this gift. I loved this time to focus on them and their household.

Padded Satin Stitch, Stem Stitch, Granitos Stitch, next Fly Stitch for the bud sepal, Single wrap-two threads French Knots, and Detached Chain Stitch for the leaf.  See Needle'NThread for tutorials.

Granitos Petals, then Stem Stitch & Fly stitch for buds and stems, and Buttonhole Stitch for the leaves.

Outlining with Back Split Stitch to control the shape of the flower.

  1. What exquisite work. You are making me long to get back to embroidery. I've done cross stitch sporadically the past few years, and it's just not the same!

  2. Thank you Linda. That is the point of posting the photos, to inspire others.
